I didn't recognize the name Vin Tanner. Looked him up. Steve McQueen's character in The Magnificent Seven. But there were remakes and sequels to The Magnificent Seven, and they had Vin Tanner, but since it wasn't McQueen, it wasn't the same character. There are three versions of The Maltese Falcon. Sam Spade was in all of them, but there was much difference between Ricardo Cortez's Sam Spade, Warren William's Sam Spade, and Bogey's Sam Spade. They weren't really the same guy at all.
