Anyone hear from CLK?

Recommended Posts

A little break and time to reflect.

My beloved is not doing well and it leaves me pretty cut up.

I get on here to take my mind off things for a while.

Thanks for caring.

Just came from seeing Sherron at the LTC Home.

Bedridden, she sleeps a lot, even when I'm there, but is always happy and relieved to see me.

She frets and worries about everything; not her usual self at all.

Things slip from her mind and she becomes agitated and tearful.

Very hard to watch and feel so helpless.

Thanks everyone for caring.

I spend a few hours with her every day and was there again today.

They used the patient lift to get her into a "Boden" (?) chair* and the PCW/PSW folks had dressed, fixed her hair and got her gussied up for my visit on St. Valentine's Day.

We sat and held hands until she got tired and asked them to get the patient lift and put her back in bed.

Our son called on my cell phone to talk to her, but her damaged throat and vocal cords from the stokes and tubes down the throat make it difficult. She even has trouble handling the phone.

My God this is hard to watch.

To my friends here on line, thank-you for your prayers for Sherron.

She passed into the arms of God yesterday, June 9 around 7:00 in the evening.

I was with her for a few hours in the afternoon, but she was heavily sedated.

She was awake for a minute or so and I was able to tell her how much I loved her.

We were married 54 years on May 25

I'm typing this amid bouts of tears.

So sorry amigo. Death is never easy, even when it ends suffering. I can't imagine being there with my wife. I wish I had profound words, but of course there are none. I do like this song. Prayers for comfort in your time of loss.

Nothing I can say will lessen your pain.  We all wish you peace and will share in your sorrow.

Find joy in all the memories that the two of you made and take comfort in knowing she no longer hurts and awaits you on the other side.

O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the Devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed servant in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away. Pardon every transgression which she has committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin, for Thou only art without sin, Thy righteousness is to all eternity, and Thy word is truth.

For Thou are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Thy servant who has fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages. Amen

May He Who arose from the dead, Christ our true God, through the prayers of His all-pure Mother; of the holy, glorious and all laudable Apostles; of our holy and God-bearing Fathers; and of all the saints; establish the soul of His servant who has  been taken from us, in the mansion of the righteous; give her rest in Abraham’s bosom, and number her among the just; and have mercy on us, forasmuch as He is good and loves mankind.

Grant rest eternal in blessed repose, O Lord, to Thy servant who has fallen asleep, and make her memory to be eternal!

My Condolences.  Take solace that she is no longer suffering and is now watching over you.

Take care of yourself and don't be afraid to lean on your family and friends.
