The modern replicas were (are they still made?) chambered for .22 LR, while the originals were chambered for .22 Short. Originals were also chambered for .32 rimfire. Hoss Posted February 6, 2022 Share Posted February 6, 2022 I’ve not seen one in 32S&W. you might look at Collectors Firearm’s in Houston. Last time I was there they had a bunch of Sharps derringers. And tons of other old and new guns. Largest gun store I’ve been too. Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283 Posted February 7, 2022 Share Posted February 7, 2022 Howdy HK A quick search through the web states the Sharps Pepperboxes were chambered for 22 RF, 30RF, and 32RF. I have two original Sharps 'Pepperboxes'. The little one is of course the 22RF model. You are correct, it will not chamber a 22 LR, only 22 Short. The bigger one is 30 Rim Fire. Not 32RF. 30RF. A 32 will not fit in this guy. I did some scrounging around in my cartridge collection and came up with these three Rimfire cartridges. I did not know what they were but it turns out they are 30 Short Rimfire cartridges. They are a very loose fit in the chambers, but they do fit. Can't help you about modern replicas.
