RV Saga....part????

RV saga...

So...the new cabinet is wide open...wich I like.
Shanley went to buy supplies for electrical, and picked up two organizers I asked for.
Problem is...the wide one is too tall and won't slide under the sink.
The good thing is it DOES fit in my closet and takes away two boxes I had for hats and shoes!:hugging:

I will get a short/wide organizer for under the sink...and this smaller, but big enough for skillets/pans one DOES fit under, just beside the sink!
Things are looking up! Should be finished today with the cabinet hook up!

I've only had to plug my ears a couple of times, about the amount of wire used for the small space!

Could he cut and trace and rewire...yes. BUT why??? I told him to tuck it in the small cabinet/cover he will make to protect water inlets...and call it good!

Pay no attention to the lights turning off when you turn on the sink.

Oh my word!!!

Ask him about my wanting ceiling fans at the cabin!!!

He put in the one fan, turned it on...and because of the 3 way wireing, the other fan came on...spinning really fast and the light was flashing!!!

I see that he's a contortionist too, as well, and also .....

Part of his 'Marine vocabulary' that was used was due to the fact he CAN'T work in small spaces anymore!!

His 5' 11" frame just doesn't fit well...and he used to only weigh 135lbs!!!

Yup..22 years ago he was a 29" waist...

Now he is 200lbs and a 38" waist.

He likes my cookin'.

I enjoy watching a craftsman at work.
It seems there are so few of them, these days.

Right?

Seems there are few younger gen that can do this.

They say "I'll pay someone"

Problem is, all the someones are retireing ir passing on.

I learned 2 years ago not to take ANY trade for granted.

When daddy passed, he specificly told me that I could NOT write his date of death on his side of the headstone in SHARPIE!

I almost had to!!!

There is only ONE man in the whole 4 Corners area that chissels the headstones. I was able to get it done that 1st half.

He only goes out in Spring and again in Fall.

I told my friends to start calling when their mom died.

Yup...next Spring is when they can have their mom's date in.

Woot-woot.

14 more days!!!

Shanley ROCKS.

My floor is major reinforced...nice new flooring, cabinet and butcher block top, new stove top...and tonight he finished up by reconfiguring the plumbing to fit the new cabinet...and put in flooring to cover holes to make it less appealing to the mousies!!!

So...this week while he is at work, I am cleaning, organizing and getting list for extras we need.

Next week I will load ammo and check/clean guns.

2 weeks to the day, we will be headed West!

You ought to do a local shakedown trip. That way if anything needs adjusting you're home and have all his tools.  Looks great!

It's been my experience that things stored under the kitchen sink will move around and knock the sink plumbing loose while towing.  Keep this in mind when putting things under there.

Yes , we will secure the bins.

After 5 years of at least 8 trips a year, this old girl was ready for her 'fix'.

This cabinet actually allows for containers, where the old cabinet was just loose.

Kudos to your man for his fine craftsmanship.
There is great satisfaction in a job well done.
Even greater satisfaction when that reinforced floor holds up properly for years to come.

Yes!

It takes him a bit longer, but the job is done right!!!

I am going to enjoy this 5th wheel untill the walls leave the frame!!!! Many, many good years ahead!

Which make/model did you settle on?
Using an articulating bed hitch or ??

This was one of 6 that were on sale at local RV Sales in Moriarty. Long time family owned, and great folks.

Anyway...I liked 3...

One was too heavy, one was bought before Shanley made it over from work...and this one, I sat in the doorway STINKEYEING anyone who dared come near.

This is a  Keystone Loredo.

Lightweight.

33' (actual 37')

We were using a goose neck, as that is what our Chevy already had.

But...it can be hard on 5th wheels, so went with 5th wheel system.

This one has a base that pops on the goose neck ball...it wiggles as needed while driving...guess I need to learn more about my hitch system!

The selling point was the price, the openess of the rig in both the up and downstairs, and price!!!

We did not worry about the sun fade, it will happen where we live...

The interior was a nice mix of not too girly, not too blah.

"Next week I will reload and clean/check guns"  My god, I hope the boy appreciates what a wonderful gal you are.

Imis

We met at 12 years old.

Went our seperate ways at 18...

Reconnected at 35 and started our lives on 2nd marriages.

I tell ya, we DO appreciate each other....greatly!!

I had him teach me early on, how to load, cast, clean guns, ect.

He worked all day, and I had left the work force and had time.

So I would go outside in the garage and cast...load shotty and cartridges...get everything packed and ready.

He worked and supported the household...I did the fun stuff.

I will say this...I asked him how to load the lubisizer with wax...he always did it, and I kinda watched...but he never SHOWED me.

One day, my casts were not getting fully 'ringed'...it was running out of wax.

So...I took of the top lid, took the wax and heated it in the micro, and poured it in the pipe...

And after I put the lid back on, I started turning...waiting to feel the pressure of the wax...but it kept turning...for a while.

Then it was super hard to turn...then impossible.

When Shanley got home, I explained what happened and what I did...

His face turned white...

I had poured the wax on TOP of the plunger!!!@

Did not realize it needed to come out.

It took him hours to get all that wax out of those crevases!!!

He doesn't hesitate to show me things, anymore!

Oh my....well, don't rush ANYTHING, and it will all come together!!!

This has been our biggest fix in the 5+ years we have had the 5th wheel.

Counting our blessings!!!

And OH BOY have I screwed up in 22 years, and he has had times of needing a helmet...but all in all, we are a pretty good fit.

Out of 6 kids, we should have 1 that will care for us someday.

And 9 living grandchildren....2 are with us (and their mom), so life is interesting.

We do still like each other, and are looking at retirement, and life at the cabin!!!

You are right, the Dr. said I'm "wired wierd"...so I will accept abnormal!!!
