Thanks for the suggestions went with Bond

For side matches much easier to use with the trigger guard removed, well for myself anyway..you can get a lighter hammer spring ..I tried it but went back to the original..JMO.

I have one in 45 Colt. Took the trigger guard odd…just one screw. I use 45 Cowboy special in it. 200 grain bullet with 3.5 grains of Trailboss. Nice easy load. I took 1 coil off the spring on mine. Made a lot of difference.

How's the hammer pull and trigger? The last one I had was rough as he$%!!!!!!! The trigger pull felt like 10 lbs!:o

The trigger in mine is acceptable, not exceptional.  Mine is a Cowboy defender in .44 special.  I traded the original .45/410 barrel away.  I love the .44 special.  Aspen Filly kinda personalized it in a very pretty way!

Why the Snake Slayer over the Texas Defender?

You do get a quarter inch longer barrel and longer grip with the Snake vs the Texas model.

Suppose that is the answer?

Just curious if you selected the Snake Slayer to use in SASS side matches? B)
