Chief Rick
Is one thought to be better/higher quality than the other?
DeaconKC
I have heard nothing but good stuff about those over the years. Also, the Henry 410 has a loyal following around here.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
The ones I have looked at look like the same gun. Just different stampings. "H&R 1871 is the company name, but New England Firearms is was also sold from the same company, they are one in the same, owned by Marlin since 2000." Of course Marlin is gone and so is NEF/H&R. Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
Whatever you do, I'd recommend avoiding the so-called "Youth Model." Without a doubt the harshest shotgun I've ever shot. I made the mistake of buying one for my son when he was a "youth" - he hated it. I tried it and agreed... I hated it too. First shotgun I had was a 410 topper Jr loved that gun. I lived in Kansas back then and quail didn't stand a chance 1 was going down with that shotty.
