Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
With the closing of Founders Ranch, three local clubs lost a place to shoot. The remaining local club shoots at a public range. The range charges $6 for shooters ($5 for seniors). The club charges $5 for a match. Club finances are stable. There are indoor restrooms and water on range. The club does not provide water or snacks though sometimes a match director brings snacks. Attendance is down due to ammunition shortages. There is sufficient attendance for one posse. Shooters are mostly long-established competitors who stockpiled reloading components and ammunition in times of plenty. Chancy And our Annual Shoot, "Fall Round-up," is one of the least expensive annuals you'll find anywhere. And that's not because we skimp on the extras. Side matches, 10 stages, two great lunches, and a Friday night pizza and dessert around a campfire. Yes, we do charge a little extra for the Mini match warm-up and Saturday night banquet.
