Blackwater 53393
The Locomobile company lasted until 1922. They made really fine automobiles. Eventually bought out by the Durants.
Forty Rod SASS 3935
Stanley made steam powered cars, too, and I've seen WWI steam powered trucks. FWIW, Studebaker marketed electric cars a hundred years before the Volt, Tesla, and others.
Blackwater 53393
Stanley Steamer held the World Land Speed record for steam powered vehicles for many years!! The record, (127 mph) was set in 1906 and wasn’t broken until 2009! The same car was running over 150 mph the next year, when it crashed at Ormond Beach in Daytona, Florida. The record, which was set for all wheel driven vehicles, stood for quite some time as I recall.
