….making a ridiculously expensive and completely foolish purchase as a Christmas present to me.

As others have said, Do it if it brings you enjoyment! I'd get it engraved also as JBar said.

I bought a hip flask for a water bottle when I was in college, it was a dry campus so I got lot's of chuckles when I'd pull it out during long engineering classes.

So I think we've established that you absolutely should "pull the trigger" on this delightful gift to yourself... which only leaves the question ~ whatcha gonna put in it??   :P

Both.

The shape of each DUI lends itself well to the open area of the flask. I fear both would be too busy.

So, buy two.  It’s only money!

One for Scotch, one for Irish.

Looking at the price of the flask vs. the price of the filler the filler costs more than the flask.  I mean what are you going to do put it in a paper cup?

Paper cups are for water coolers and bathrooms!

Appropriate vessels I got plenty of.

The best part is where I read that each piece is handcrafted in the U.S.A.  :FlagAm:

That makes a purchase more than worth it.

I am happy to pay more if it is made in the U.S.A.

I pay more for my blue-jeans, which are made in the U.S.A.

My winter coat is. My boots are. My cowboy hat is.

My antique iron spurs are.

My Dad's silver spurs are.

My chaps are.

My old Wah-hoo (now labeled "Wah-Maker) pillow ticking shirt is.

My Colts are.

My Winchester is.

My Shotgun is (model '87, and Parker Brothers).

Hey cheye-knee....you can kiss my rebel...grits!!!! (and you can keep yer virus too).

Like the Henry F.A. Company states:..."Made in America...Or Not Made At All". :FlagAm:

UB - You know I'm going to vote for the DOL but there's no reason you couldn't put one on each side.

I do have a an SF flask. Not as classy but serviceable. So maybe the Garryowen will go on this one.

I have retreated through to the man cave. ;)
