Eastern Grey Kangaroos

We get upwards of 30 - 40 out the front every night as they come out of the bush to feed. They growl and fight and kick the crap out each other all night, the noise can be pretty annoying. Worst thing is that they carry dog paralysis ticks that kill a lot of dogs in my area each year. We have our dogs on a tick guard medication now.

Some 18 years I started a topic on another forum titled Sky Scenes.  It's never been off the first page. It's now 36 pages long.

Here is the picture that started the topic.  Unfortunately,  back then pictures had to be kept below 5k size so wasn't as spectacular as they could be.

This is a shot of a thunderstorm some 25 miles south.  It dumped 5" of rain  in 45 minutes.  This was during the 500 year flood in the Missouri River in 1993.

Another of our granddaughters at sunset. The best of the sky scene was gone by the time I took the picture. I didn't thank the flash would work but it did.

It's hard to see, but the moon is a little left of center near the top.

When the days shorten, the skies are the color of lead, I consult my archives and find fragments of springtime ... shot this one almost vertical from below, with a deep flawless blue sky overhead.

I recall how good the blossoms smelled, and how badly I wanted to show this shot to my Mama, rest her soul!

Night Blooming Cereus in our back yard.

They only bloom at night,  and only once,  then they are gone.

Captain, if I recall correctly, that is either an ornamental Cherry or one of the several Haw Thorn trees we have on property. I'd lay money it's Haw Thorn because I've impaled my scalp on those rascally long thorns when running the riding mower under them. Kind of hard on the scalp. It was the only time I ever run the riding mower without wearing a Hard Hat and I've taken pains to transfer to another job so I'd not rip my thin thatch any further!

Some photos from my mission trip to Kentucky.  Some taken with iPhone, some with Canon AE-1.

Child’s toy in tornado rubble.

Friend relaxing after a hard day of tornado cleanup.

Another toy.

Paper 12 gauge shell.

Toys in snow. Not from the tornado.
