Stopsign32v
Well about to dip into some 36 cal conversion revolvers. I know you can line the barrel easily to shoot true 38 special in them but I just want to be different. 38 Colt Pros: Original to old conversions Can do heeled 38 Colt short Can do hollow base 38 Colt long Cons: Heeled reloading 41 Colt Pros: Not dealing with heeled and go with internally lubed boolits Pretty cool Cons: Have to have 38 special cylinder bored out for 41 Colt Hard to find brass I'm sure
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
Consider this. In both .38 Short Colt and .38 Long Colt, you can use a hollow base bullet that will engage the oversized rifling. No need to worry about heeled bullets. That's what I do. Cholla
The .41 Colt was also a heeled bullet so no real advantage. If I remember correctly Cimarron Firearms has recommended that I use a heeled bullet if I buy their .41 Colt Lightning revolver.

It would have to be internally lubed. Heeled would be too large for the .375 bore
Bailey Creek,5759
I always thought the 41 Mag. Would make a fine caliber for Cowboy Shooting. Marlin made a nice 41 mag rifle. I have been thinking about having a pair of Old Ruvers converted to 41 mag.
