Buckshot Bear Posted November 18, 2021 Share Posted November 18, 2021 Can’t believe what I saw in McDonald’s today. An old man placed an order for one hamburger , French fries and a drink. He unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half , placing one half in front of his wife. He then carefully counted out the French fries , dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife. He took a sip of the drink , his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them. As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger , the people around them were looking over and whispering. Obviously they were thinking , 'That poor old couple - all they can afford is one meal for the two of them.' As the man began to eat his fries a young cowboy came to the table and politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man said , "we're just fine - we're used to sharing everything, but thank you kindly son". People closer to the table noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink. Again , the young cowboy came over and begged them to let him buy another meal for them. This time the old woman said 'No , thank you , we are used to sharing everything.' Finally , as the old man finished and was wiping his face neatly with the napkin , the young cowboy again came over to the little old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of food and asked 'What is it you are waiting for?' Alpo Posted November 18, 2021 Share Posted November 18, 2021 It is amazing how long it has been since I have eaten fast food. When Michael came to visit, he apparently did not like Burger King because he blew down all four of them in the county. For the longest time - maybe a year after that -none of them (any fast food place, not just Burger King) were really open, because they had to rebuild them, and their employees were busily getting their houses back together. Then here came the plague, and they were all closed once again. Now they're open, but you have to do drive through. You can't go inside and sit down. You can't even go inside and order. I don't do drive through. I started going to Golden Corral about once a month for breakfast, maybe 6 months ago. That's the only food I have eaten in the last 4 years that I didn't cook. About two weeks ago I went through their drive through and ordered a #2, cheeseburger, fries and a diet coke. I actually thought I was eating cardboard with cheese on it. Never again. bgavin Posted November 19, 2021 Share Posted November 19, 2021 We do a two-fer Coupon Night at Carl's Jr. when the rare need arises.
