Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971
Chey-Cast sent out an e-mail on the 2nd stating their lead cost will increase from $0.25 to $0.60 per pound starting next year and they will increase bullet prices accordingly. I placed an order yesterday for more bullets. I don't want to get priced out of the sport next year.

Hells Comin
That's about $3.75 to $9.00 per 1000 rounds if I calculated correctly. Hells Comin
Hells Comin
That's still cheaper than gasoline except in California. Lol
Smokin Gator SASS #29736
I received an update from Bayou Bullets advising about ordering before a price increase. They didn't say how much it would be. I ordered a couple of cases.

Hells Comin Is that per thousand or per 500? I did the math and came up with the same numbers you have for 500 bullets of .45 colt 200gr ($3.75 going to $9.00). What bullet weight are you basing your numbers on?
Dream Chaser, SASS #79316
Talked to SNS casting and they expect a 20 to 25 percent increase. Got my order into hold me, with what I have, a couple of years. At my age/health not sure I want to go out much further.

I love my .45 but I could shoot twice as much .38 for the same price.

Tye Riverman, SASS #41433
Thanks for the heads up! Just made an order. I googled lead prices and they are up 20% since the first of the year. With current back logs from the bullet companies, we may see larger increases than expected. Thanks again. Tye

Noah Cash
I just got in 2500 .38 bullets a day or two ago, and cast up 50 lbs of .452 200 Grain bullets. That did put a small dent in my stash of lead but a very small dent.
