If you disagree with that go to SKSboards and get them to set the record straight. I'm not making any claims just trying to help a fellow shooter. kR Just measured a std sp CCI at .017 CCI sp mag at .020 SR std at .020 Don't have any sr mag to check. I used a 'pin' micrometer for this. OLG

I remember they were $1/100 and if you bought nine trays the tenth one was free. Also they were packaged in cottonwood trays.

The reason for the extra thickness in the SRM's is that they are supposed to be ok for 223 etc. kR

Then, there's the military version of that primer.... OLG

Knowing that small rifle primers are same as small pistol is good, but what about small rifle MAGNUM primers? Are those interchangeable with small pistol magnum (which for CAS use would be same as SP)? In particular, does being magnum make them have a harder cup that would take more force to set off? Yes the thicker CCI Magnum srp is harder to set off. I tried them in 3 sets of revolvers and one 73. The SRP were no problem, all went off with no problem first strike. The srp Magnum had one failure on the first try but went off on the second attempt, that was in one of the pistols. There was a noticeable difference in depth of dent in the primers between SRP and SRP Magnum, with the Magnum showing the lighter strikes. kR PS these guns all have lighter springs in them. My gun shop just got in some. Would they increase pressures? Ie a very bad idea? At the speed and pressures we shoot at in CAS shooting . I see no Problems at all . You Probably wont even see much of a difference in them and your other rounds . You might Hive a High Primer issue once in a wile though . You would see a bigger issue with Max Charge Magnum Loads in most cartridges . Just sayin Rooster
