DeaconKC
I have a gent offering me a Winchester 24, it is well used, non-collector grade. Are these any good for CAS?
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
A few get used. Rather broad at the breech and heavy. Solid gun, but not many smiths work them. If you like something svelte like an SKB, this gun would be disappointing. Just due to the lack of fans in SASS, I've passed them by without a second look. good luck, GJ
DeaconKC
Thanks @Garrison Joe, SASS #60708 I still have enough strength where the weight is not an issue. Considering taking the barrels to 24", it's 30" now. Gun is "well used" not quite a mud puppy, but shows some rust, still tight.

BLACKFOOT SASS #11947
I had one years ago. It wasn't an ideal CAS gun but it would have been a good one with a little smithing. It was from the roll-crimp paper hull days and needed the forcing cones extended along with the normal things needed to make a slick shooter. Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life
Built like a tank and as heavy as a tank too. My Grandfather had one he shot ducks & geese with for years. Never any problems, very reliable.

Like GJ said, not many gunsmiths work on them, but Cowboys & Indian Store did mine just right.
