Tucker McNeely
Not sure what this is. The serial number is 18. Several pieces have 18 stamped into it. Dragoon? Walker? OBTW, asking for a friend.
Warden Callaway
Colt Dragoon. Not sure if first, second or third version. I think the first had the square back trigger guard.
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
Looks like a first model Dragoon to me. Oddly, the only serial number 18 that come up on the Colt serial number lookup online is a Single Action Army made in 2007. I sometimes wonder how accurate that thing is... Sedalia Dave
BAsed on the cylinder notches and trigger guard it is a Second Model Dragoon Quick glance shows that it could be a real collectors item. https://www.rockislandauction.com/riac-blog/colt-dragoon-history-and-variations Might want to seek out an expert opinion. Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
2nd Model Dragoon. The cylinder engraving is very deep and the serial number of 18 is entirely wrong for a genuine 2nd Model Dragoon. Look for Italian proof marks or date stamps. A real 2nd Model would have roll engraving on the cylinder but it is very shallow. The serial number would be between 8,000 and 10,000.
H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
If this a modern made Italian copy, they did a very good job of making it look old. If it was real, based on serial number 18, I believe it should have Walker style grips. On the other hand, if it is real, it's a mystery. Curiouser and curiouser.... 45 Dragoon
From the profile it looks to be Armi San Marco. A view of the action parts would help. You should be able to see - S.M. on the barrel under the loading lever. Mike
Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
This one pictured is a (copy?) 2nd model Colt Dragoon. The Second model, has a square back trigger guard, and rectangle cylinder stops, with a lead-in....which this one has. The First model has oval trigger stops, with no lead-in, but also has a square-back trigger guard. The Third model has rectangular cylinder stops, with a lead-in, and also is the only dragoon model with a round trigger guard. All "five" dragoons (if you count the Walker, and the Whitneyville) were in ".44" caliber, although you use a .45 caliber ball, or conical bullet in them. I prefer a conical paper cartridge. Easy Peasey...
