Subdeacon Joe
Found online: “Actual Weaver shooting actual Weaver looks much less Weaver than the way the cops were taught Weaver by people other than Weaver and much more like the modern shooting stances of today.”
Smokin Gator SASS #29736
Yes. His feet are positioned in more of the Weaver type stance but his upper torso and shoulders are squared up looking much more like isosceles.
Pat Riot
Also, if you notice the few photos of Jack Weaver shooting that you can find online, his grip seems to change a bit. I one photo his left index finger wraps around the trigger guard. In others, it doesn’t. Also, not many show his feet placement. Years ago, early 80’s, I took some instruction from a guy that taught shooting using the Weaver Stance as learned by him through shooting with Jack Weaver. A few months later I took a shooting course from another fellow who told me I was doing it wrong and had me shift my feet and straighten my left arm. His method was awkward for me. Anyway, HE learned the Weaver Stance from watching Jack Weaver. Hmmm…
John Kloehr
Weaver had a bad leg which affected his stance.
