Yup... thass us.  -_-

Keep on sendin' us your lefty-leaners... we just ain't got near enough.  <_<

To quote myself:

Quote

- It's not that we don't resist.  We do.  But we're outnumbered by more than two to one.  In the populated regions (Bay Area and SoCal) the ratio is as much as 85.3% to 12.7%, with a few "independents."  And keep in mind that the present condition was largely brought about by transplants to California from other states.  Hell, Gavin's Aunt Nancy is from Baltimore!

In the year 2000 it was reported that only one out of 11 adults in the state was a native.  At this time, we have almost 40 million people - over 10 million are from other countries.

Face it - We have been occupied.  -_-

I do believe that the guy's nothing but a rich, spoiled SOB, and the state is just his shiny plaything.  He's a bully who derives pleasure and glee from tormenting those of us who don't quietly and obediently follow his directives.

Lovely... the bill was authored by a Silicon Valley assemblyman (transplant from Dallas, by golly!) and an assemblywoman from San Diego.  Typically, pencil-necked urbanites deciding what's "best" for the balance of the state.  Unfortunately, the roughly 5% of the California land area that is urban contains roughly 95% of the state's population.

Well... I reckon this may pretty much kill the already decimated timber industry.

By the way - he also signed bills that further burden law enforcement, require all schools to distribute certain "health and hygiene" supplies, ban single family housing zones (someone wants to buy the house next door in your neighborhood and build apartments, they can), and requires department stores to have aisles for "gender-neutral" toys.

Meanwhile, the state burns.

Hey, Dallas!  Take this Marc Berman clown back, would ya??

We have enough issues in CALIFORNIA without individuals painting us with such a broad brush of insults and degrading comments.

Seriously what are they thinking? Battery operated lawnmowers etc need recharging and that would put a big strain on the power grid along with the coming ban on gas powered cars!
Does he or they have a plan for this?!

Things like this, done by His Majesty, King Newsom, and the socialist/marxist congressmen, and senators, that are elected, do really stand out like a sore thumb to a lot of folks that don't live there. At some point, King Newsom's choices, and policies, and commands, will have more and more negative economic effects, as the citizens, and business, located there, will be backed more and more into a corner, and will have no choice but to change careers, if indeed they can, or leave the state.

Many say they don't have the votes to change the existing socialist/marxist government, and many say they just can't leave, for various reasons. That may be true, right now, but sooner or later, it will get bad enough, and widespread enough, that free men and women, will have to make the hard choices they can't make right now. I just presume it hasn't gotten bad enough, yet, for that to happen.

Some things, such as the laws of economics, and others, seem to move slowly, and imperceptibly. Then all of a sudden, they seem to slowly pick up speed. Then, ultimately, comes the avalanche. Where that stands now, on that scale, is determined by how much the people can, and will, put up with, and endure. How many folks, and businesses, end up leaving the state, before things start to really make a bigger negative impact, is yet to be determined. But, those things are happening right now. Businesses, and people, are leaving.

It's kinda like pulling the plug on a large above-ground swimming pool. For a while, you don't see hardly any difference in the water level. The slow, inexorable flow of water, will, at some point, become more evident...then will seem to pick up speed. Economic laws are slow, but inexorable.

Of course, by then, King Newsom will be a Congressman, or Senator, in D.C., and that will affect more than just California.

The eternal choice of mortal man...to endure oppression...or to resist.

Commifornia enacted legislation to require certain smog reduction and increased gas milage. Then along comes car pools and EV cars. The slow effect caused the revenue from the gas taxes to decrease. So what did they do? They increased the gas tax. With another reduction in gas usage it won't be long before the morons realize another reduction in revenue. Rinse and repeat.

And nobody has even mentioned what California has done to the trucking industry.  California has forced independent trucking contractors to be treated as regular hourly employees.  Now, many carriers won't even do business in California, which has caused a major backup in the ports.  There are scores of cargo ships waiting up to 2 weeks to get unloaded because there aren't enough truck drivers.  Since most stuff from China comes through the west coast ports, this is causing lots of shortages right before the holiday season.   Container ships are being diverted to east coast ports and shipping container costs have skyrocketed in recent months.

Makita has already stated they are ending production of gas powered hand held equipment next spring.   Some users will be fine with the change.  Those that have small lots and use the equipment infrequently.  Commercial gardeners and heavy users will resist and  spend their money for the tools that can actually do the job.

solar panels ever where ? with the electric grid already over whelmed , How ya gonna charge all the batt. power stuff ?

  CB

Remember... Emperor Gavin now requires all new homes to have solar rooftops.  Gotta provide 'lectricity for that 'lectric choo-choo.

(Our electric rates are now going up 18%, with another 4% increase over the next year or so.)

Are the panels enough to even provide for the needs of the house they are on ? I’ve talked to a few people who waned to live “off grid” , just for the independence part of it and they said it would be a struggle and extremely expensive with the current technology.

No.  But it will lighten the drain on the grid.

Not sure if it's typical or not (likely close), but Ms Helen Brimstone just told me that her solar panels offset 85% of her electricity bill last year.  California presently imports about a third of the electricity used.

So how many more valleys are they going to have to flood to make more electricity? They already destroyed Hetch Hetchy a long time ago. Maybe next time they'll flood Silicon Valley instead? Solve two problems at once. :)

New hydroelectric dams in California are banned - "rivers must be allowed to run free!"  There are plans to dismantle the one operational nuke, the state's moving away from natural gas, and there will NEVER be coal burned to generate electricity.  Plus, wind power is bad - hurts birdies.  The state currently imports about one third of its electricity.  The power companies are required to shut down areas on windy days to prevent arcing to vegetation that could cause fires (clearing trees and brush is no longer allowed - 'tain't natural, don'tcha know).

Hetch Hetchy?  The O'Shaughnessey Dam was built 98 years ago - you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who ever saw the valley.  I find it amusing that there are "greenies" in the Bay Area who lobby and demand that the dam be blown up to "restore" Hetch Hetchy - which provides about 20% of their electricity and most of their water.  Water, by the way, which is considered to be some of the cleanest and best in the entire U. S.

Did she ever say how long it will take to recoup the initial investment in the solar equipment? I’d also be interested in what maintenance costs are ? Solar is probably something I would be interested in if it ever becomes realistically cheaper than buying my electricity.

Getting real world experience is so much better than the sales pitch

So if the batteries in these products are Lithium Ion ( rechargeable)

what about a run a way cell when they catch fire and the plastic burns the piece of equipment up which produces smoke ( plastic is a hydro carbon ) pollutants enter the atmosphere plus if you are cutting your grass now we have a grass fire and with the big winds now catches neighborhoods on fire , wonder if they thought of that ??

Not that they are incapable of it... they're just above it.

Someone raised in the "asphalt jungle" cannot be bothered to be concerned with the needs of people in the Central Valley or mountain or agricultural areas to remove or trim trees or brush.  Hey, Politicos... ever heard of "fire control?"

I wonder what the penalty will be for smuggling a chainsaw or weedeater...
