Injun Ryder, SASS #36201L
In the mid 60's, I took an 1840's vintage Kentucky Rifle to school for a presentation, loaded it and the class went outside to see me fire it!

Pat Riot
I seem to recall a gun safety class in PA in 3rd grade where the teacher had a man come in and teach pretty much the same as the Eddie Eagle NRA gun safety course. That would have been 1968. No guns were present, only photos and we got to see a film.

Sixgun Sheridan
During the 1980s in high school I made a new rifle stock for my Ruger 10/22 in woodworking class. I didn't bring the entire rifle, just the barreled action minus the bolt a few times to check the inletting. I got an A+ on the project. Nowadays I'd get ten years for doing the exact same thing! Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
A couple of my high school shop projects were a crossbow (kit and parts purchased through the school!), and a miniature "working model" naval truck gun (cannon). Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474
1964 or 65, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, of all places, I was taking a night class in trig at St. Patrick's High School and stood in drooling awe looking at a display of Lugers and Borshart pistols in a display case, that were owned by one of the students, a Dips son. Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
It is, ultimately, our fault for how things are today. We were not as involved as we should have been, needed to be, with others, and with the political process. Common sense, and the independent spirit, have been pushed to background by leftists, socialists, globalists, and those that want to change our fundamental stance, and national policies. We are being manipulated by socialists, communists, marxists, and people who don't even know what their gender is!!! Good cow, people!!!! Is it too late to rectify this mess? I hope not, but we need to radically change our ways, and get involved...or else we will see more things like Portland, and traitor joe. Yep, this does pertain to us C.A.S. folks. There are those, waiting in the wings, that would take our 2nd Amendment rights away from us, or so severely restrict us, that many may give up the shooting/hunting sports. The American future ain't what it used to be....or could be, if the present path we are on is not corrected. Better yet, run for office yourself, on the local, grassroots level. Get up off the recliner, and get with it!!! Our 2nd Amendment freedoms, just to mention one, are in peril. Is this what we want for our children, and grandchildren?
