Alpo Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I am a wee bit puzzled. First, seeing the flag flying I thought maybe it was an Australian holiday - specifically Australia Day - looked that up and it's not. So I decided to look for any Australian holiday on June 3rd. I found this website which lists Australian holidays by territory. https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/public-holidays/2026-public-holidays#qld I first looked under Queensland, because my O-so-faulty memory says that's where Jack lives. No holiday listed for June 3rd. But I noticed, as I was scanning through them, that the King's Birthday is on the 5th of October. Thinking that my memory of him living in Queensland was off, I started scanning the other territories. They all celebrate the King's Birthday on the 5th of June. Is Queensland was just really really weird, or do they celebrate a different King, or do you suppose this is a typo on the website? Quote

Took a look at Tesla semi truck specs. Assuming the weight difference between the short haul and long haul versions is just batteries, 1,500 pounds gets 100 miles of range. So 40,000 pounds of batteries should get it across the continent with charge to spare. I'll let you flip those numbers over for AUS equivalents. 1 Quote

Australia has one of the largest known coal reserves in the world. We still have over 55,000 coal miners in Australia who bring in over $100+ billion a year in coal exports. BUT we as a country are committed to phasing out coal as an energy source within years to meet 'Net Zero' , but we have no problems selling a gazillion billion tonnes of coal to the worlds biggest producer of Co2 (China) each year. 1 2 Quote
