This just poped up on one of the newsites.  Guess the French are really upset.

France recalls ambassadors to US and Australia in response to AUKUS nuclear submarine pact

Yep they have their croissants in double knots today!

I did not realize anyone but iran, and north korea, had any active, front-line diesel submarines, or wanted any. I did not realize they were still being ordered, and built.

Interesting.

Well...I figure France can get glad, in the same shoes they got mad in.

Most navies that have submarines are using either diesel electrics or some form of air independent propulsion, although I believe the AIP submarines tend to be relatively short range coastal or local sea (Baltic sea, Black Sea, etc) submarines.

China calls for ‘combat readiness’ after AUKUS submarine purchase

China is feeling the pressure after our sub announcement, and has warned Australia that it has made itself the “target of a nuclear strike”.

Egads! Can you imagine what the critters will be like in Australia after getting irradiated?!?

I am glad the Australian navy is getting some nuclear subs. Anything that irritates china, is a good thing, and I have to think that facing Aussies in a nuclear sub would not be something china would want to experience. I figure china would rather grab a male polar bear, in the crotch, with a hand-full of cockleburs, that to go head to head with an Aussie nuclear sub.

My Dad fought in the Pacific Theater, in World War 2, and he once said he was glad the Aussies were on our side.

I am too.

I am sure we all already knew that Australia was already the target of a chinee nuclear strike...as are most non-communist/socialist nations.

They fool only themselves.

Hmm.  Wonder if those will be strictly attack subs or if some will be SSBN's?  If so, where would they go to train and test fire their missiles?  How far is it from Oz to Kwajalein?  Air Force recently fired a Minuteman III from Vandy to Kwaj, with some type of warhead (non-nuke) to test something.  Maybe arming and fuzing equipment????    Looks like China is building a bunch of "holes" for ICBM's.  World's gettin' dicey again.  Need Congress to get off the dime (billions) and authorize and appropriate funds for the Ground Based Strategic Detterant (GBSD) system to replace Minuteman III.

The target for the dummy MIRV's is the helipad on one of the islands in Kwajalein atoll.  I spent a week on Kwajalalein island in 1985 as a techrep for a CAT dealer that sold 8 800kW diesel generators to replace the nackered White Superior 8 cylinder diesel gensets that were the power source for the terminal guidance radar for the Nike Zeus program.  When the program was canceled the two radar's power plants became the power sources for the island.  The plant with the White Superiors was the back-up source.   While I was there, a test of a Trident missile was conducted.  It was an education.  If I see a green shooting star I will bend over & kiss my bum goodby.

P. S.  The Zeus program was before phased array radars; so, the power output of the two radars were high enough to cause tissue damage.  The radar buildings were surrounded by 40 ft. high monel wire fences to shield people from the microwave radiation.  Access to the radar equipment was through a culvert tunnel.

Latest headline from the Associated Press.

France’s Macron to talk to Biden amid crisis over submarines

Is Mr. Flip gonna flop?

Joe will probably pay France 2 to 3 times what their deal with Australia was worth to keep him happy.

We're also buying more F-35A's

The Tomahawks are going to be integrated on the new subs, our F-35A's our FA-18 A/B Hornets and also maybe our P-8A Poseidon's as well as our Hobart Class destroyers.

There must be a lot going on behind the scenes with China.

Presuming traitor joe can comprehend the subject matter, and remember Macron's name. He could not remember the Australian reps name when the deal with through. How embarrassing, for everyone except traitor joe, that is.

That is one of the questions they ask when someone is being given a cognizance test.  When he can't answer he ought to get minus two points and not just one.  When my dad was having problems back in 2002 they asked him who the president is.  He said Bush.  Good thing they did not ask him which one.
