"Never Forget" spelled out in NorCal skies 20 years after 9/11 terrorist attacks

VACAVILLE, Calif. —

A pilot in Northern California used their flight path Saturday to spell out the words “Never Forget” on the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The pilot took off from the Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville at 10:45 a.m. and landed two hours and 22 minutes later.

There was no smoke from the plane, but the words are visible by looking at the flight path tweeted by Flightradar24.

The path started in Vacaville and took the pilot north to the Colusa area before turning around.

KCRA 3 has reached out to the Nut Tree Airport but has not yet heard back.
