aussiejon
Hey there! newbie first post. I recently bought a ?pietta? 1860 with no identification marks. it has a serial number on the frame and a fitted smooth cylinder with a serial number somewhat close to the number on the frame. it fits a pietta barrel perfectly. there are no markings inside the frame. Any identification info is appreciated!
Crooked River Pete, SASS 43485
I don't know if these will work, but they should open a pdf file for Italian proof marks file:///C:/Users/crpet/AppData/Local/Temp/mbpproofmarks.pdf powderhombre.com/mbpproofmarks.pdf

Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329
Pietta name is along the right side of the barrel. Most others name/logo is underneath the loading lever. Manufacture date code like ""BT" is in s box on the right side of the frame. The serial number is no help. aussiejon
Thanks for the replys. the barrel I have on it did not come with the rest of the pistol. I have 5 other pietta, a western arms, and two Uberti's. this is the only one that has no markings on the frame other than the serial number. According to Italian proof marking requirements, as well as the barrel, the cylinder is supposed to be proof marked on revolvers. I'd say someone seriously "defarbed" your receiver and cylinder. AKA, polished off the manufacturer and proof marks. good luck, GJ
