Cypress Sun
Ida is forecast to be a strong Cat 4 hurricane when it hits the coast Sunday evening with 140+ mph winds and 20"+ of rain. It could intensify into a Cat 5 with the warm Gulf waters. It's also going to make landfall on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The coastal destruction will be pretty bad but the real problems could be flooding from the huge amounts of rain inland. To all of the folks that are in the path of Ida, please take precautions and the best of luck to you.
Father Kit Cool Gun Garth
Feel bad for our coastal neighbors. Looks like our equation this time is: FLORIDA = NEO
Forty Rod SASS 3935
Ida, you stay away from Avery Island. Just leave my Tabasco sauce alone. Seriously, good luck to you folks down there.
Trailrider #896
Don't wait! Evacuate NOW, if at all possible! For the rest of us, look for the price of gasoline to spike because the Gulf Coast refineries will be shut down.
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
I have family right in the bullseye. They have weathered other hurricanes, and I'm sure they will stay put for this one. You can't talk them into leaving.
