Mexico files suit against Gun Manufacturers

"We, the government of the United States of Mexico, having come to the conclusion that we are unable to do what we were elected to do - to rule our country justly and to prevent criminals from taking over - have decided to sue the hell out of innocent people for many millions of dollars, and when we have won this lawsuit and have those many millions of dollars, pack up and moved to some other country that is much less criminal - like Switzerland maybe."

We need to counter-sue for their inability to keep drugs and criminal gangs out of OUR country.

  I'll give that a thumbs up and while we're at it let's make it a capital offense to smuggle drugs, guns, criminals, and "refugees" into our country , or to enter the country illegally.

And for the love of God, BUILD THAT FENCE and patrol it constantly.

To bad you can only give a response a single "like"!

Only way to get our country back is to remove the elements that are doing their best to destroy it, starting with our own representatives that only represent themselves.

Plenty of backhoes in this part of the country and lots of empty fields

Tired of all the cr@p.

Ten billion dollars...  good grief!

We give 'em close to a half billion $$ in "foreign aid," and they do this?  Cut 'em off.  -_-

I’d suspect that Mexico is playing to the current anti-gun sentiment in the U.S. government, if not actually acting on a suggestion from it. There are plenty of anti-gun groups that have found themselves unable to directly impede the industry, but would love to see firearms manufacturers drained by fighting lawsuits, whatever the origin.

Mexico ignored our pleas to help with the cocaine trafficking back in the 80's and 90's.  They welcomed all the money coming in and told the U.S. that the drug problem was ours.   By the early 2000's Mexico finally realized the drug cartels had infiltrated and corrupted their entire system.  By then, it was too late.  Since poverty, payoffs and corruption is part of the Mexican culture, the drug cartels developed into the monsters they are today.  It wasn't like this wasn't predicted.

Hm.

Here's a thought....

As absurd as this is, it seems that the American manufacturers may be looking at tremendous legal expenses in fighting it.  If it isn't put down quickly, it's going to hurt.  A lot.

I'm wondering if there might not be some American interests behind the action (or at least supporting it) with that thought in mind.

Indeed. I'm surprised some Dems haven't said they fully support Mexico's decision to sue them yet. Maybe they have and I haven't heard about it. Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

They have to sue in some sort of international court. There is no single simple way for one country to sue another, and also, in some instances, the country that is being sued can simply refuse to participate in the proceedings...or can ignore the verdict. It depends on the treaties we have with that particular country that is suing us. It depends on how politically risky it will be to publicly support such a thing.

Anybody, or any country, can sue anybody over anything. But in the case of one country suing another country, that will go a whole different route, than say an American suing another American.

On the remote chance that they get some monetary gain out of this, considering Mexico's political history, and corrupt officials, the money could likely line the pocket of some politicians, which is also likely the real reason they are suing. Remember...just follow the money, and you may ultimately figure out the reason behind the actions.

I am not worried about this. The liberal/leftists/socialists may make a lot of hay over this, I am sure, but the more aware demo-rats may not want to touch or support a foreign country suing the U.S.. Notice I said "more aware demo-rats", I did not say the more intelligent demo-rats.

That would be a contradiction in terms.

They're not suing the United States.  They're suing corporations.

If aid was discontinued to Mexico that might ring their bell.

Check this out. This is what Mexico gets from the US annually. https://explorer.usaid.gov/cd/MEX

And from this article in  2018...also remember who was President in 2018. This crap is not one sided.  https://apnews.com/article/central-america-caribbean-international-news-marcelo-ebrard-andres-manuel-lopez-obrador-0fcda32812024680ad98676379c47233

> ARTICLE:

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The United States pledged $5.8 billion in aid and investment Tuesday for strengthening government and economic development in Central America, and another $4.8 billion in development aid for southern Mexico.

My thoughts on Mexico are reflected above in my prior comment.

Until the pandemic is over. Until drugs stop crossing the border. Until people stop crossing the border illegally. Until the illegals are deported. Stop all foreign aid going south. Close the border to all trade. In fact close the border to all crossings in both ways. This is destroying the USA. It is a war with full invasion of the USA by foreign citizens. Until the USA fixes what is wrong here, stop sending USA tax money across the borders to any country.

Yo don't have to close all of the border crossings, Cliff, all you have to do is close one for a day or two to get the message across.

Come to think of it, you don't have to even close one to get the message across.  Just give every truck coming into the country one of those detailed, colonoscopy style, inspections for a week or so.

That alone would screw them up bad enough to have the powerful and influential screaming bloody murder over their losses.
