Uh, NO!   There may still be fingernail scratches on the inside of a Minuteman launch tube from when I went down in the elevator work cage to check on the missile suspension system.  No, I didn't do it more than once.  But I had to show the MMT troops that an occifer wouldn't ask them to do something he wouldn't.  The work cage was suspended from the motor by a single 1/4" steel cable.  In case the bottom fell out of the work cage you were connected to the point where the steel cable connected to the cage...NOT up at the top.  If that cable broke...:o  Never had one break so far as I know....   Flying never bothers me.  You get breakoff phenomenon inside an aircraft.  But I hate having to change a lightbulb that is high enough to require a step stool.
