Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
I've seen cable car and train turntables, but not a ferry.
Finagler 6853 Life
I went across the Ohio, I believe from southern Illinois into Kentucky on a ferry where the engine part of the boat, pivoted around the part where the cars were on. Almost like a tug pushing a barge but permanently attached. Once it got to the other side, it pivoted about the car barge and went back the other way. It was really different. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry, crossing the Mississippi between southeast Missouri and Kentucky, operates the same way. At the end of this video I found on YouTube you can see the tug making the switch. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1BtNf1M5TH0
