The world's last turntable ferry has a really clever design

I went across the Ohio, I believe from southern Illinois into Kentucky on a ferry where the engine part of the boat, pivoted around the part where the cars were on.  Almost like a tug pushing a barge but permanently attached.  Once it got to the other side, it pivoted about the car barge and went back the other way.  It was really different.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry, crossing the Mississippi between southeast Missouri and Kentucky, operates the same way.
