Alpo
If you were making a list of the various members of the animal kingdom that you have scarfed down upon, would you separate them by age? Sheep and lamb? Beef and veal?
Tyrel Cody
And should we list separately the ones that taste like Chicken?
Singin' Sue 71615
My eldest daughter used to ask me "what am I eating?" I would answer with chicken, cow or pig...sometimes deer or elk. Had a friend think I was terrible not using words like pork, beef or venison (although, didn't seem upset about chicken vs poultry) I told her that at 3 yrs old, Casey wanted to know what meat it was, and she knew what a cow was...saying beef didn't mean anything to her!!! BTW...to answer your question, the two other animals that crossed my palate are bear and mountain lion. This is thanks to Aspen Filly and Wrangler!! Cypress Sun
If I were being really anal about it, I would list them as such; Genus Species Subspecies Normally, I just state the name of the animal that I'm eating. I've never felt the need to make a list.

Tennessee Trapper Tom
Not sure what you mean by separating by age Alpo. Do you mean like eating an egg after it’s started to develop into an embryo which is a delicacy in many places. Veal. I can list a lot of stuff I’ve eaten but aging would be hard. strange to many monkey dog grubs (bondingi] multiple snake snakes allligator possum coon ants grasshopper bear ive tried a lot of stuff. Much ended up on the ground. As to aging them. Vomiting gets OLD no matter what you’ve eaten.

'Tis a wise thing to NEVER name an animal that you intent to eat .............. unless you name it "Dinner" Right??? Story here... Momo (grandma) raised fowl...I am sure we were fed from a few through the years... Well, one day Momo calls daddy... She had tried to leave out her front door, and her dog would not let her. He kept jumping against the door everytime she tried. Well, last time Tip had done that, there was a rattler coiled in the corner. So, she collected her .22 pistol, and headed out the back door... Only to find a runt piglet, huddled in the same corner! She grabbed it up and called dad. He then called the only pig farm in the area, and they said all of theirs were accounted for...and if it was a runt, they were happy for us to keep it. Daddy spent the day building it a good size cinderblock pen, covered it in chicken wire... That way it was secure from wild animals around. We watched that pig grow...my sister the only one who gave it the name Prissy. Then one day,it was gone...and soon after, we had pork more than normal. I think my brother was the 'switch' flipper...when he asked for "more Prissy, please"
St. Louis Suomi SASS #31905
Eel....I'm not a big fish eater, but smoked eel is delicious. they used to go thru 100 or more pounds of smoked eel in Andersonville (a district of Swedes/Norwegians) in Chicago - oh and a few Finns too! :-) and you are correct - rich like salmon. And you could buy live crayfish to make pies with at the deli. I miss that neighborhood a lot.
