Pat Riot
When I lived in Elk Grove, CA I saw more turkeys in town than I ever did on turkey hunts and scouting trips.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
I saw a lot of turkeys around town. In the suburbs I saw a lot of fowl too.

Singin' Sue 71615
We had a momma Grouse doing her best Lame Duck routine at the lake the other day. We stopped and the oncoming driver stopped. Shanley had watched all her chicks get to the other side and into the brush... Had to ask the guy to let her get on with her act....he thought she was really hurt. Soon as she saw her last chick dissapear, she ran for the brush. Fun times.

Joke 'um
Unintended consequences. Drive off or kill the pumas and coyotes. Put an end to the "stray cat problem." Wonder where all these turkeys csme from.

Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984
Heard a fish and game guy talk once. Turkeys in the forest know how to scratch through the snow to find food. If city turkeys are released in the forest, they will teach the forest birds to find trash cans.

A 22 pistol or rifle loaded with colibri cartridges is effective for terminating destructive turkeys in the city limits. Had a coworker who lived in Orinda CA who bagged them on his deck. Another choice is a 25 or larger caliber precharged air rifle.

California: two kinds of turkeys there, avians and humans. The birds are edible, the human kind (not all of the humans in the stare are turkeys) are useless even as food. At least the birds are fun to watch.
