There is also somebody in South Carolina that does work on 87's.  If you know Sue Render, she might be able get that gunsmiths information.  She gave me contact information a few years ago, and I can't find it now.

3 Cut is a cowboy shooter and gunsmith.

 

No one does the mod that way any more as it's unsafe. Nowadays they modify the carrier and lever. There's only a few left that do it and as far as I know have been listed here.

I think that was only done to original 87’s, not the IAC’s. I believe Fireball can give the true facts on that modification.
