Rugers vaqueros price

Irish Pat

Recommended Posts

I just noticed the new Ruger Vaquero MSRP is now $989.00, when you can find one.  I was told Ruger is turning out Polymer guns as fast as they can. All lines are being used for polymers right now. Everyone wants them they cost less to manufacture and have high profit margin

Well, just wait until Ruger makes the Single Action Plastic (SAP) and wait for the crowd of SAPs to buy a pair.

good luck, GJ

Ruger polymer frame guns are semi-autos which are made in Prescott, AZ.  All other Ruger firearms are made in New Hampshire or North Carolina. The East Coast factories are pumping out AR-15's and PC 9mm Carbines and PC Charger 9mm pistols.  Reason being these are the firearms the Left Wingnut Socialist antigun idiots are working on to ban.  Same thing with Smith & Wesson.  Try to find double action steel revolvers.  Folks, it is what it is for the forseeable  future.

IT'S CRAZY!!!!!  The gun store I work at has been able to get Ruger Wrangler 22's, a couple of Ruger LCR revolvers and a couple of Ruger SP101 revolvers and ONE Ruger GP100 in the last 6 months.  We have over the last 30 years been one of the highest volume mom and pop dealers in Arizona according to our ATF auditors.. We have great relations with our suppliers.  Vaqueros and Blackhawks have been like getting Colt Single Action Army revolvers.  NONE.  Have gotten a good many Colt Pythons, Cobras, King Cobras and the new Anaconda.  I would like to be the fly on the wall watching gun manufactures decide what to produce on a daily basis.  MAJOR PROBLEM in every business is getting GOOD HELP.!!!!  Thank you Chinese Covid-19!!!!

I know from a friend of mine, who is a Ruger R&D person, that part of the problem is getting quality steel from suppliers.

Uh oh, raw steel comes from our friends in China.

America, we have sold ourselves down the drain for cheap stuff.

So putting my omv's on the market at 1600 a pair shouldn't be a hard sell?

It doesn't seem that long ago that I could buy OMV's and Blackhawks for around $325-$350 each.

The pair of omv's I have was purchased new by my dad. He paid $290 each out the door new. Lol I bought them from him for much more than that.

You'd think, with all the folks that have passed away, retired, or just quit shooting CAS, there would be an abundance of Vaquero's available.in the used market.

Just out of curiosity it would be interesting to find out how many Vaquero's and Blackhawk's are stowed away in safes. Just how many single action pistols are out there?

If you're willing to pay that, you're desperate.

But there's one born every minute...

That's a catch all phrase. I'd love to talk about other economic theories with you so as not to take "Supply and Demand" in a vacuum.

The current Supply will draw in those desperate.

And you say?

or those who can afford extra few hundred bucks for a hobby the really enjoy... I have a pair of uberti's... I wanted a pair of Vaqueros... was I desperate? no... could I afford the pair at the prices offered - yes...

That said, I am not alone... I bought 3 pairs of Vaqueros - first a pair of Bisleys that did not work for me... then a new pair of SASS from here at $2100... then another new pair showed up in a store in Nevada that ended up in my possession.... so, Bisleys and one pair had to go... both lasted less than a day in classifieds and were sold for asking price without me loosing any money...

Desperate is one who can't afford the price of what he wants to possess and looks everywhere to find what's not there at the moment...

This is funny...I guess you can hope that Ruger stops making the Vaquero...then ya got a good deal.

I can afford a lot of things...but I'm also smart enough not to be desperate.  You want to pay inflated prices, go for it. Like is said...(ref: P.T. Barnum).

Also, your acquisition of the SASS pair was a Straw Purchase...pretty hard to run from that being that it's on the Foreverweb.

I bought my son a pair of NMV in .357 two weeks ago. $1,600 with very nice action jobs and Eagle gunfighter grips.  A set of NMV’s just went for $1,350 on the wire. They’ll be listed on the Vendor page for $1,850 or more soon, if they’re not already.

What???

Someone bought a pair of NMV's for $1350 on the Classified and are going to turn them around and sell on the Vendor Wire for $500 more????

I don't go to either of these forums so...what the heck?!

Am I missing something???

the choice is to be smart and not to have what you want or enjoy it if you can afford it.... I made my "stupid"  choice and love it

about the straw purchase... not so fast, the guns were legally transfered through the FFL to my name... background check was conducted and forms filled with my name on them

The straw purchase was done by the person that bought the guns for you.

Line 21A on the 4473 was answered falsely by the buyer in Nevada. The one that you called a friend...that just committed a Felony for ya...that's a hell of a friend ya got there. That said, it has to be proven. Money changing hands...records...but your friend bought them for you so it put him/her in jeopardy.

Cheers!

Yep, Vendors buying on the Wire, marking up and relisting on the Merchant page, Gunbroker, or Facebook is common now.

I get an email whenever a new listing hits the Classifieds and it’s still hard to get a shot at the better deals.

I actually don’t know what they’ll be listed for but given what that vendor is listing Vaqueros for I would say $1850 at the very least.

I've seen this; pair of .32 birdshead Vaqueros being sold by Cabela's for $1,600 bought and listed on GunBroker for about $800 more soon after. It sucks being on a budget and having no affordable selection due to the current market these days.

Sorry if I offended you... did not mean it in a negative way, we all have our budgets and we all work hard for our money.  I was desperate enough to buy primers from a private party at $200 for a 1000... that was a desperation, as I had no choice and was looking for whatever will keep me shooting...

I grew up in a country with a controlled economy where no money could buy nesseccities regardless of price just because there was no supply.  Using newspapers printed with lead ink instead of the toilet paper gives you some perspective...

You have to do what you have to do! Nothing wrong with that. I spent a little over $700 for 5,000. My money, my choice.  As prices fall I will probably buy 10,000 more, then wait for the bottom.

It’s that, or stop shooting soon. Our current burn rate is about 1,300 - 1,700 primers a month. If my younger daughter joins us that will go up by at least 500 a month

It's free country (for now) and free enterprise...  trust me the other way is way worse.  I left the USSR in 80s... take it from the horse's mouth

Phantom is actually spot on if your friend bought the firearms with the express intent of transferring them to you.

You have to ask yourself.  What will the ATF agent assume?  In today's political environment, I wouldn't want to be that friend, no offense.
