I wonder how that's going to play out in the civil Court?

If the people living at 123 elm Street are criminals, arrest them. That is the job of law enforcement. They are criminals, so you arrest them.

Making a video, where you stand out in front of their house and say, "the people that live here, at 123 Elm Street, are criminals", seems to me would fall under the headings of police harassment, slander, and libel. And if I lived at that address, I would take a copy of that video to the best shyster I could find, and sue the hell out of the county, the sheriff's department, and the sheriff personally.

I would be willing to wager, it's a rental property and the owners have no clue as to the goings on with their property.  As long as the rent is paid, who cares......  If the owners see that video, I would bet the tennants will have to find another place to live.  You don't want to be on Sheriff Ivey's radar.

Have they been arrested and convicted of crimes? Then they are criminals. And if they are a public nuisance, then calling them out may save the neighborhood's kids. Just nice seeing criminals be "criminalized" than law abiding gun owners!

Florida laws on residential video surveillance laws protect the video portion. However, as much I would like to see the scumbags in the house dragged out by the hair on their head, handcuffed and their asses carted off to jail, until there is sufficient evidence to charge them with a crime then I would have to agree with you about harassment, slander and libel.

I guess if they were law abiding citizens, they would be out searching for shyster lawyers to represent them. Instead, they are hiding in the house....probably with the toilet flushing just as fast as it could when they saw the cops outside.

Florida residential law (in plain English)

IF the residents of that house are renters and the owners aren't aware of what is going on, it might be a good idea for the sheriff to run an O&E on the property. (That's and Ownership & Encumbrances search).  If the owners are the residents, and the neighbors are really concerned about their activities, maybe they all ought to get together and buy them out.  If the offenses are serious enough and when the arrests are made and the judges don't provide stiff enough sentences, or the laws aren't tough enough, then it is time to organize recall of the judges, or, if it is the laws, then vote in some state reps who will.  NOT easy, but that is probably what it will take!

This action by the Sheriff could be defined as: pro-active !!!

Great job Sheriff...You put the people living in the house, on notice, AND you put any of their potential drug customers on notice, as well.

I figure the Sheriff ran this all by the District Attorney, or someone that could tell him if this will fly or not. He did not mention any names, just the address. But, then, anyone can sue anyone, in civil court, IF they have the funds to do so...or if they have access to a leftist/socialist political group to pay for it.

Unless people are mentally challenged, we all know what is correct, and incorrect. If you do the incorrect stuff, at some point, you will pay the price...if not in this life, most assuredly in the next.

We need more public officials, and judges, to show some courage, and grow a backbone. Action speaks louder than words. If people can't or won't change, and do the right thing, then it should get so rough on them, that they either change their ways, or move on, or get sent to the mini-bar hotel, for a an extended stay.

If the public/elected officials can't/won't address things...there are other ways.

If ya'll like Browards sheriff (I do), you'll love Polk County's Grady Judd. If Judd ran for Governor or President...I'd vote for him.

BREVARD not BROWARD.  BIG difference.  Broward county, "Coward county" as it's frequently called, is where the  sheriff wouldn't let his deputies enter the Parkland school with the active shooter present.  Lives could have been saved if he had been stopped sooner.  LOTS of lawsuits over that one.

Oops,  Big mistake on my part. You're right. Don't know why I thought Broward. My apologies to Sheriff Ivey and crew.

Looks like it was probated in February of this year. So it likely changed ownership as part of an inheritance. Only one owner listed on the tax roles.

Based on the above it is either a rental or the person that inherited it has poor choice in boyfriends.
