Sounds Yummy!

I figured it was because of the flavors in the jello. Little vinegar, tomato sauce, a little pepper for spice, the sweetness of the pineapple juice. Barbecue sauce.

Not certain how to pronounce the 5th word in your response. But one pronunciation leaves a very bad taste in my mouth..... :D

Well, Aspic (/ˈæspɪk/)[1] is a savoury gelatin food made with a meat stock or consommé, set in a mold to encase other ingredients. These often include pieces of meat, seafood or eggs. Aspic is also sometimes referred to as aspic gelée or aspic jelly.

I do like it with a light beef stock...but the lemon also gives a nice touch....and the green onions!

I know how to pronounce it and I know what it is.  Still ,,,,,,, no.  Just ,,,, no.  That's not right.  Anything that has cottage cheese as a center piece ,,,,,,  no.  Jello should have fruit in it.  Iknowtomatosareafruit.  Still ,,,,, no.  You are a funny lady.

Alpo, (shaking my head)  you need to talk to someone.  I've seen gross and this is what it looks like.  That's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

Fair is fair, and we must give Dave the credit. He posted it last Christmas. 12/27/20

WHY?

It strikes me as a Depression Era recipe.   From my reading of old cookbooks aspics were common,  and even popular,  until around the 1960s.  So maybe it was something kinda fancy to take to potlucks without breaking the bank.

I've never been a fan of them.

What I don't get is the almost violent dislike of cottage cheese.

It was very, very YUMMY!!!

Proof that looks aren't everything!!!!

If you like Bloody Marys...minus the booze...you would like this!

It would side well with a shrimp and steak dinner!!!

I need to invest in a jello mold.

I doubled the recipie....

And the only thing I had 'round' was a thrown ceramic 'chicken broiler' dish from the pottery folks at Winter Range (now EOT)

It is the round, deep dish, with a section in the center...you set the chicken over the center, upright.

Anywhoo....not the correct dish, but did not effect the flavor.

After reading all of the responses I decided to come back to the beginning.

Read it once more and decided I ain't NEVER been that hungry.
