Singin' Sue 71615
Our oldest daughter (eldest?) has a female, I think at least 14yrs old. Anyway, from time to time...she has us watch her for this reason or that. Funny thing is, she always starts screaming in heat when here. Funny how that happens, huh??? Anyway...my question would be: is it safe to spay an older female??? At this point, I would pay the bill!!! 20210710_113752.mp4
Alpo
I know little to nothing about cats. But about English - I believe that your oldest is the eldest.

We have two vets here...one is new age and wants bloodtests for everything. The other does not.
Whiskey Business
So, you ask vet 1 for advice and he makes you take a blood test?
Perro Del Diablo
More likely she is missing her parents and being in new house she is not used too

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
My cats were all younger when I had them spayed. I would ask a vet.

Yup...I would definately find the risks before moving forward. I thought she had spayed her years ago... Might be an incintive in watching her again...well, LISTENING her again. Whiskey Business
She is a senior cat. 14 is equal to 72 in human years, so a vet may be hesitant to to spay her. And she is an indoor kitty. Like Allie said, I had my cats spayed early. At 15, cats are considered geriatric.

Alpo
I've had dogs. Dogs go into heat maybe twice a year. According to this article, if cats don't get bred, they go into heat constantly. https://www.thesprucepets.com/do-cats-have-menopause-555438
