Singin' Sue 71615
Bonnie McCaroll... I did not know about her, untill listening to a song Juni Fisher wrote about her. It was said, the only way to allow the women to compete, was to teather them to the stirrup, as a saftey measure. Well, that was the fatal 'straw' for Bonnie... As the story says, her foot was 'stuck' in the stirrup. So, be it lore or truth...she was taken that day, doing something she loved. I may find myself visiting the Pendleton Rodeo some day...I visit the whiskey frequently!

Singin' Sue 71615
I believe Juni wrote it...but I may be mistaken. First one to have ever heard sing it! By the way...Juni has some great CD's out there...and she does house concerts if in your area. I am proud to call her friend. Some of you may remember her from EOT one year at FR. Waxahachie Kid #17017 L
Since Hollyweird has no common sense, it would be nice if someone wised up out there, and made a movie about some of these early rodeo cowgirls, and what they had to endure, both in the arena, and out of the arena. If they can make a movie about women's professional baseball, during the war, they should be able to make one about cowgirls!!!! By the way...next time any of you are in Fort Worth Texas, please consider visiting the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. It is right down the street from the Amon Carter Museum of western art, which has many of Remington's, and Russell's paintings, and sculptures. And....you ain't that far from Angelo's Bar-B-Que either!!!! (or the Stock Yards, or Billy Bob's). We love our cowgirls!!! Ain't nothin' better!!! W.K.
