Ouch!

Unfortunately, I think this is the new normal, at least for a while.  I jumped on a case of Winchester AA's a month ago that cost me $155 shipped, and was glad I could get them.

So much for "it doesn't pay to reload shotgun shells". Glad I stocked up on shotgun components years ago, especially now that I have 4 shooters in the family.

Last summer there was a $2/box of STS shells.  Shopping at three different Wal*Marts I was able to buy 36 boxes for the rebate.

When you're going through them at a rate of 16 boxes a month, stock up is a relative term.  I bought 3 cases, probably should have bought 4.

+1

At $4.00/box my reloads seem pretty reasonable.

Very true, but that is with components you already have.  When the time comes to replenish your primers, that cost will likely go up.  Still worth it, though.

Enjoy that while you can.... when you are finally forced to "Re-stock", those days will be over. But I agree... I have a pretty good stock of Shot Shell components, plus a good supply of both reloads and new shells.

Suddenly, my investment in All Brass Magtech hulls doesn't seem so expensive after all.  Been loading the same hulls for 5 seasons.  I figure they are pretty well amortized.
