Shipping primed brass?

This is just plain ignorant, The government can have a fleet of nuclear warships without an issue. It can send people into orbit without an issue. Yet transporting hazardous material is out of their capabilities? And yet, private sector companies can do it all day long. Does anyone get the impression that FedEx and UPS wrote the USPS regulations???

And did you know shipping caster beans is prohibited??? Who knew?

That's likely because they set off the ricin detectors.

Loaded ammunition and primed brass can be shipped through UPS. (not USPS)

It must be a UPS hub and not a mall UPS/mail center.

There must be a ORM-D label on the box.

UPS will have them at the counter if you need one.

I use to print that on a 2"x4" label in 3/4" tall letters and placed it on the same side as the addresses.

Really... No, only Certified HazMat companies.

Shippable doesn't just mean (USPS) mailable.

I use FedEx and UPS for ammo, powder, primers.

I generally use USPS for firearms because of the usually lower cost.

That just my normal way, you can ship differently

You ship powders and primers?

How do you handle HazMat?

True but it is no longer hazmat

The question doesn't ask about hazmat, really, it asks about mailability.  There are a lot of things that can be shipped by common carriers that are nonmailable.  I wish the USPS would get with the program and get up to date on this, as primed brass is not a threat to anyone....but they aren't.

Don't count on UPS supplying the ORM-D label. The last time I shipped ammo at a UPS hub, they didn't have labels...they handed me a black lumber crayon and I had to draw it on the box in several places. Think ORM-D label Picasso style.

Phantom,

No, I don't ship primers or powder out.  I only receive them.

I do ship and receive firearms by all three aforementioned shippers.
