So you have a bad 97...there are many good Win 97's out there...like...a ton of them. Parts are plentiful...

Get a good Win 97 and be done with it.

This! get a good gun and send it to one of the many gunsmiths that can overhaul it completely. Well fitted guns are less apt to break. Also ask around about the common things to wear out/break. See to these on a regular basis. Do maintenance rather than repairs. Have a regularly scheduled maintenance procedure that you follow to prevent surprises.

A BIG plus to Phantom, Shootin Fox and Goody.

All three are great suggestions.

If you got with an IAC brand, try to find the 'CB' model prefix (CowBoy).   But as Phantom also

stated, there should be a ton of original 97's somewhere.

Don't be leary of spending a few $$$ when getting a quality piece.

And definitely don't overlook having a top notch 97 smith check it out for you and keeping it

in good shape.

EDIT:  and don't forget to put a 'WTB' (want to buy) in the classified section

of the wire.   Someone may have one for sell that does not read this section.

..........Widder (what shoots a 97 a little)  :D
