The Longest Year (Useless trivia)

Recommended Posts

What was the longest year?

It was 46 BC.  The calendar had gotten out of whack since as we all know a year is not exactly 365 days.  Julius Caesar had the calendar corrected and implemented the Julian calendar.  This resulted in 46 BC being 445 days long.  It became known as the ultimus annus confusionsis (which means last year of confusion) since the change brought the seasons back into alignment with the calendar.
