McClellan Calvary Saddle, Horse Hair Girth, bites

Recommended Posts

This is a antique McClellan saddle with genuine horse hair girth and two bites. This came from the estate of a Buffalo Soldier who was stationed at Ft Concho in San Angelo Texas. The saddle has had repairs at some point over the years but it is serviceable and I ride with it regularly. $600 plus shipping or pick it up in Bryan Texas.

I have 2 I am selling. Both are stamped 12" on the plate on the fork. I have never seen one stamped 15". The cavalrymen that rode these were smaller than people are now. Mine are original and complete with all straps and horsehair cinches. If you measure front to back at the very top of the fork and the cantle it says 15". I am not selling my BITS.
