Charlie Harley, #14153
Moments like this are why I love the mountains. This barred owl spent much of yesterday evening and again this morning hunting the river next to our campsite. It even perched in a tree less than 20' from where I stood, and then flew so close I felt the air circulate off its wings.
Michigan Slim
I've had that view from my stand a couple times. Hawks, owls, even and eagle once. Awe inspiring when it happens.
Utah Bob #35998
Danged resident Owls here wait until I walk under wherever they’ve perched for the day to spread their wings and swoop silently over my head, scaring the cheese outta me. Then after dark they start calling. “Whoo. Whoo. Who cooks for you” Sometimes I holler back.
