Caladisi,

I've been doing the same thing with a Winchester 94.

It's taken me three months to find/order/receive all the components.  I was able to purchase a set of RCBS Cowboy dies from a member here on the Wire.

Were it not for the generosity of one of our members ( thanks, Adolph Vancinghand), who cut me the best deal ever on some brass, I'd still be twiddling my thumbs.

Luckily, when I returned home from EOT, I found some lead on my doorstep, so I'm about to start loading up a few rounds.

FYI, Rim Rock Bullets has some .38-55 lead in stock.

Good luck to you.  If I can help, don't hesitate to shout.

Doc,

Thats some pretty good shooting for minute of elk.  I have yet to do a chamber cast and barrel slugging and then I will know for sure on the case length.  Keep me in mind when you get your brass stash.
