The received minor, misdemeanor convictions with no jail time or even public service in return for NOT making a spectacle of the court system. It was mostly a matter of convenience! They get to keep the rest of their guns, buy any other guns they choose to, and there’s no ramifications concerning his standing with the bar association!! Link to comment

The gun friendly state of Missouri threw them under the bus in the name of expediency and appeasement. McCloskeys accepted being thrown under the bus for the same reasons. The McCloskeys will never get those particular guns returned to them. Neither will they get a refund of their fines if pardoned by the governor. For the sake of discussion, assume the guns were prized items, no longer in production. JM Marlins, Brownings, S&W, or some such. The gun friendly state of Missouri took these guns from them and had them DESTROYED. All in the name of expediency and appeasement. Here in CA, I have no illusions about the State raking gun owners over the coals and throwing them under the bus. In gun friendly states, this shouldn't happen. Link to comment
