Boulder Canyon Bob# 32052L
Where to find them? I've done the Google search and haven't found any available. I know about Ranger Point and have one that broke pretty early, and Slick Magic one on order, but i have a couple of original style extractors and figured I might as well have springs for them. Warden Callaway
If you just need the spring, Numrich has one. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/406410B Or you may try Ebay. If you're looking to replace the extractor, I've used a Sure Claw. http://www.surehitsights.com/store.html https://www.longhunt.com/storelh/index.php?route=product/product&path=88_93&product_id=

I have a Sure Claw on order, but thought since I had a couple of stock extractors I'd just get a couple of springs.

I made a repair to an ejector using a spare 2-piece firing pin spring. It'll be short but just may work.
Widder, SASS #59054
I have used the Extractor spring in the Ejector, AND..... I have used an Ejector spring in the Extractor. A little tweaking (tuning) might be necessary. ..........Widder
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Just use a Ranger Point Precision extractor, and never worry about it again. OLG

Baltimore Ed
Since I’ve started messing with .45 cs brass in my stock [other than bbl length] 1894 carbine rebuilt as a Trapper I’ve had the last piece of mty brass hang up in the action a few times. Doesn’t seem to do it if there is another round in the magazine. Naturally I cleaned the bolt first thing. I don’t remember having ejection issues with .45 Colt or Schofield brass. The oal length of my load is good so it feeds them just fine. Is the short 45cs brass problematic, just something that I’ve got to watch out for? Or is there something special that I need for 100% ejection?
Widder, SASS #59054
Baltimore Ed, There is a 'tweaking' mod involving the Extractor which can help fix that 'last round' problem you have. Without being too stiff or tight, the Extractor needs to be set up to hold the rim of the case securely to the bolt face. This keeps the case snug to the bolt face and prevents it from slipping off before the EJECTOR can kick it out. Other rounds in the gun (on the carrier) prevents the prior empty from slipping off. When nothing is on the carrier, slippage can be problematic. ..........Widder
Baltimore Ed
Thanks Widder, I tweeked the extractor a little as suggested and it seems to be an improvement. We’re in the middle of a deluge but when it dries out some I’ll check it out.
