A local video store may have a used Season 3 for sale, worth a few phone calls.  I have the Deadwood movie saved on the DVR.  If you enjoyed the original series then the movie is a good way to get closure.  It’s like a Shakespeare play with all the soliloquies.

12 bucks seems okay. I’ve never been able to fix a screwed up disc.

The movie is available from Amazon for $5.

We still got’em.  Vintage Stock and Entertainmart.  Buy or rent.

Rogers TCM is a great benefactor of my pension $$ and a good source of many of the movies SWMBO and I enjoy.

Try eBay to find a new/used disc.

DON’T buff the disc.  Use rubbing alcohol applied liberally on a tissue and wipe the disc gently with that.   Don’t rub too hard!  Let it air-dry.  Usually, though, once they “go bad,” they’re done.

Howdy,

I have bought some of the least expensive used Deadwood off of ebay.

Seems like for the price I paid a few years back replacement disks

should be available.

I have had good luck spray with dilute Dawn and rinse with

warm water flush. Then wipe with light application of synthetic cloth.

This has "fixed" many disks which stopped or jumped ahead.

This total fail is new for me.

I have success with scratched DVDs that get to a point and stutter or stall.
Ultra-Brite Advanced Whitening is the most abrasive of tootpastes.

Wet the DVD and apply a bit of toothpaste.
Use a finger and make circular swirls around the entire disk, keeping it plenty wet.

Rinse, then dry the disk with an OLD towel that is soft and absorbent.
Dry in a radial fashion (center to the edge) and NOT in a circular fashion.

Howdy,

Not a scratch it looks more like a shadow.

And the disk wont load at a ll.

new problem...lucky prices have come down.

First I saw a season of Deadwood cost 125.00 or so.

I found season 1 for 25 at a garage sale. Years ago.

I bought 2 and 3 on sales at stores. They werent free.

I could hardly believe as season at ebay prices.

Of course could be junk too.

A second disk has a similar shadow and refuses to load at all.

I pick another disk out of another box and it loads in seconds.

So not the player.

Guess I will watch Burn Notice.

And wait for the Deadwood movie too.

I am so pleased with modern picture.

Either perfect or nothing I guess.

Just have to watch Fi....

I had LaserRot in a number of my ancient LaserDisc issues.
It was a sad day when my player died, and I had to toss 300+ movies into the recycle bin because no more players were available.
