Camping season comin, perfect Swiss army knife...suggestions.

Motorcycle camping is my favorite type of camping, have a charger on the bike in the saddle bags to keep phone and sundries charged. My EDC is central to what I take camping as even when commuting to work or just local travel I always have essentials for protection, food/water, shelter, light, communication, medical. Silly not to do so to me. Camping adds the heavier dedicated knife, tent, saw, water, food, sleeping bag, fire starters, stove, pad, and such.

I have become very partial to my Victorinox Super Tinker. A very handy little beast that holds a good edge and has everything I need for minor stuff a pocket knife can be called to do.

For at least 20 years I have carried a German Army Knife. Made by Victorinox.

Awl and a corkscrew. Good size knife blade, and a very good saw. Bottle cap lifter, and the tip of the saw is a screwdriver.

It won't do everything, but it is extremely useful for many things.

Howdy,

No I havent bought one. I like the one with  sissors and phillips and

the other more usual ones.   Called explorer. Super tinker is pretty good too.

I did get a leatherman skeletool. That has a more heavy duty plyers.

Over the winter I bought a couple tsa grabbed knives.

I bought fresh grips and that one looks brand new.

I cant carry everything and a pound weighs ten at the end of the day.

My every day carry is a midnight manager. Small but very handy.

It weighs about the same as two housekeys.

If you have two get one with the heavy plyers and the super tinker.

Super tinker is available inexpensive on ebay.

It goes  good with the leatherman of several styles.

Two tools is a big advantage.

Best

Howdy,

Yoman model is nice just not easy to find.

I like philips head on the end not middle and the corkscrew

can hold a small screwdriver.  The magnify glass is just a nice option

if you find something small.

Sissors have so many uses and modern plastic packages are so tough.

A file is nice but can wait to be used when ya get home.

Lots of different points of view and the skeletool is new to me.

If the rangers like it I gotta give it a real try.

They like Benchmade and I really liked it way before  I heard rangers did.

For straight the puma white hunter is hard to beat.

i have the swiss "fishing" version and its always served the needs , but a real good fixed blade in a mid length is always what i reach for ,

if i could only carry one i think i would select a fillet knife ,
