WTB RCBS Die Set 44 Special / Russian

Recommended Posts

There's a set on ebay, VERY pricey.  Also several sets of Lee, much cheaper.  I use the Lee dies for Russians, seat/crimp together, and they work fine for me.

For 44 Russian on my RL550B I use the sizing and seating dies from a Hornady carbide three die set and crimp with a Lee Factory Crimp Die. All technically 44 Magnum dies. The Lee die has the crimp adjustment knob nearly bottomed-out, but it crimps beautifully.

Redding does not make a 44 Russian die, so I picked up a set from RCBS before the C19 crunch.
Ordered directly from RCBS here in CA... and dropped shipped from Bass Pro.
Go figure.

Starline Brass has this brass in stock.
Lyman #50, Speer #14 (not 15), Hodgdon and Accurate 2003 all have loads for 44 Russian.

I understand there is a special carrier from the Smith Shop (www.thesmithshop.com) that allows use of 44 Russian in '66 or '73 rifles.
