NY City

Recommended Posts

Was watching an interview, last night.

It seems that in New York City, if you are not a resident, it is a felony to even touch a firearm, in a gun shop/sporting goods store.

The gun shop owner said he has to check your I.D., and if you are not a resident, he cannot allow you to even touch a firearm, much less pick one up to look it over.

I had no earthy idea.

There just aren't any adequate words to describe such idiocy. Certainly no words that don't involve a lot of profanity.

I am planning to move to the United States in 621 days. Hopefully there won’t be a border fence up and the gestapo hasn’t been fully formed yet.

If I was a visitor to NY, I wouldn't bother to look for a gun store, so it'd be a really theoretical problem.

I have been to NY a few times, and I never thought to look for a gun store...

I try to find stores whenever there is free time on the road.  Might find that gem that is hard to find at home.

You may be declared an essential worker and not allowed to leave!

You may have to sneak out and declare refugee status.

Compared too NYC, it's as if there are vending machines on every corner dispensing arms...... now if only there were ones that had primers!

A local FFL was working on that for ammo years ago.  It would scan your id and take a thumb print to match against an on file print.  Now that the 4473 can be efiled, is it possible to do with arms?

AZ will have a checkpoint at the ca-AZ border.

  • You will be asked whether you prefer a real meal or a vegetarian meal.
  •
  • You will be asked "What does the "AR" stand for in AR-15"?
  •
  • You will be asked how to achieve gun control.
  •
  • And maybe some other pertinent questions.

Not many.  There used to be many once upon a time, but over the years many have closed.  Other areas in NY State are a little different.

If I recall right, Shootcago has none in the city limits. That’s why it’s so safe.
