Singin' Sue 71615
I had Shanley put a light on the back door. One I can turn on while getting firewood off the porch at night. All I can think of is the photo of the dog in RV windows!!!
Choctaw Jack
Sue, After what happened I Durango recently, the addition of that light is a very good idea. Maybe keeping ashotgun just inside the door might be another good idea. Choctaw

Have had many visitors...none were aggresive or nuciensces. Was saddened to hear of the woman's death as well as the sow and her 2 cubs. (Really only about 20 miles over the mountains from us.) I have it on the inner door...that way I still have the outer door shut/protection before venturing out. This guy was visiting last summer. Working on Penn Ranch in the 80's...Dilly taught me that banging two pots together will usually deter a passing bear.

Singin' Sue 71615
https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/05/02/colorado-bear-attack/ Can only conclude the dogs made the sow feel a threat toward the yearlings. Or..she did have a medical episode, and the bears found her deceased.
