Sgt. Hochbauer, SASS #64409
I took apart my 73 and was holding the extension and accidentally popped open the little thing on top and now cannot get the spring back in place. The pins do not seem to be able to get pushed out. Thought someone might have a suggestion before I try drilling. I do have the replacement on order from Pioneer Gunworks but cannot shoot the gun until I get that or fix the existing one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Silver Sam, SASS #34718L
Those little firing pin safety's are a major pita......... That retaining pin "will" come out, but good luck getting it to stay once you get it back in.... What I've done on a few is remove the pin and all and the pieces, then weld the plunger back into place so the gun will fire. But the best solution is to toss the whole extension in the trash and replace it with the one Pioneer makes.
Kid Rich
You don't need any of the extra junk in that firing pin extension. Take it all out and don't modify it will run just fine. Those parts now reside in my parts box. kR
